Matt K – I had hoped that “For those who aren’t veteran porn junkies or fans of the good Doctor…” would be an inside reference for those in the know, but you’re right. HST was the originator of the term gonzo. Buttman applied it to porn.

Michael & Strangepork – I like “cougar” too. Less ambiguity, much better sound.

thorx – HST did indeed refer to his lawyer as Dr. Gonzo in Fear and Loathing.

wasnt Gonzo the name of Thompsons lawyer in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas I am not sure its 25 yers ago when I red it.

I think “cougar” is a much better term than MILF (mom I’d like to fuck) since not all moms are necessarily older, and not all older women are necessarily moms. Also, cougar has a nicer sound to it…. rrrrrrrrrrrrrowwr.

For credit where it’s due, “gonzo” is a term that significantly predates John Stagliano. It was a style of journalism pioneered by the late great Hunter S Thompson, where he’d immerse himself in the story. Someone else coined the term in reference to Thompson’s work, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the Buttman.
