Sneak Peek at the New VideoBox Flash Player
We’ll be debuting our redesigned Flash player within the next week or so on VideoBox and I’ve got a preview of the design and functionality exclusively for blog readers.
The Design
A little sleeker and easier on the eyes, the new design tightens up the player a bit while delivering all of the features you’ve come to expect from it.

What’s New
The new player also comes with a few changes:
- The playhead is now separate from the filmstrip, so you can look ahead in the movie without being flung back to where you were.
- The controls no longer show up over top of the video.
- The volume control is more intuitive and easy to use.
I’m interested to hear what you guys think about the new design. Now and after it launches.

Will there ever be any 16:9 (widescreen) scale videos on videobox?
The current flash player only plays 4:3 and aligned to the left instead of center on the Mac, it would be nice if the videos could be aligned to the middle for 4:3 videos.
I can’t wait to test the new player, keep up the good work guys.

Excellent work you techies! But who is the girl in your example frame? I am sure I should recognise her, but my ageing grey matter can’t do the job. Either way she has a pretty face and spectacular body.

The only thing that really bothers me about the current flash player is fighting to jump back in the filmstrip; I shall give an example.
Something happens in a scene and I decide to hop back and see it again. I click backwards a bit in the filmstrip and go to place the play marker, when the CURRENT play marker reaches the end of the filmstrip’s view (because I have just backed it up). Thus, the filmstrip jumps ahead, and I lose the place that I wanted to see again. At this point, I can either jump back again and give it another shot – or grab the slider and move that a ways back.
I THINK your comment about the playhead means that this irritant will be addressed, but if it isn’t … ummm, that’s something that bothers me and could you fix it?
Aside from that, my compliments on your coding. This website functions FAR better in a non-standard browser than 99% of other sites.

The new design of the Flash Player looks good.
I have one question about the Flash Player:
I have a low framerate when playing videos with the Flash Player in fullscreen mode, can anybody confirm this?

Not fair having Eva on the example clip. Hard to say no to anything with her…but it does seem to be a decent improvement. I echo the concern about widescreen, though.

I have the same issue as Ditto. If that was addressed the player would be perfect. The new, slicker layout for the player is nice too.

Looks good like Hamtili said. Very rarely use Flash anymore unless it’s something I wanna see but don’t want to spend time downloading. Agree w/ Ditto about the filmstrip. That can be annoying.

Off topic…no bloggage on the new site entry page?
It looks great imo. Hopefully you won’t get too many questions about who all is on there. Or…maybe that could be the next quiz/competition?
Looking forward to the new Flash player I’ve played with my firewall and a few other things, but the current version never worked reliably for me.

on the new front page, which looks AWESOME by the way, who is the girl in the foreground? the brunette with the black bootyshorts on? i have never seen her before, but i’d REALLY like to see more.

The new player looks great, my problems is I never used the old one. I have 3 Network Storage drives which gives me 8 terabytes of storage plus the 1TB in my pc. I have stored about 2TB of your videos and the rest is full of porn too. So while I will try the new flash player when it releases. It probably won’t be any other time than that.

Just to fill out the answer to zanex’s question: The scene with Eva is Cum Craving Teens #2, Scene 1. It’s one of the more popular scenes on the site.
Alison – Can we PLEASE get a basic forum, so that members can share info about favorite scenes, etc. It doesn’t have to be fancy, and a basic forum is not difficult to set up.
Also, speaking of improvements, what about allowing members to fix the tags attached to scenes? It would provide VB with tons of free organizational help, and maybe you could fix it so we can invent new tags as well. People who want ‘finisher’ or ‘no slapping’ as a tag can create it and tag their favorite scenes.
I realize there is the potential for abuse of this system by the jokers who make racist comments, etc in the reviews, but you could easily keep data on who was changing the tags, and disable that feature on someone’s account if they became abusive. This second suggestion is a more complex one than a forum, but I think it would significantly improve the site.

I’m always up for seeing improvements but I liked the old player better. I found it easy to skip back and forth with the old player. I guess what I’m trying to say if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

The new player is REALLY slow for me, it is not as useful as the previous player. It is not as quick to find what you are looking for in a scene as with the old player. I would like to use the old player instead of this one, please.

The new player is extremely choppy. This used to be my favorite site to visit because of the superior playback, but this new player is so bad I’m thinking about canceling. Please bring back the old player or give us a choice. Thanks.
