Your Picks for the AVN Awards
Happy New Year, everyone! With the start of every new year comes the Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN Awards in Las Vegas. The award show is next Saturday and while there are approximately 10 zillion awards and nominees, who wins Best Seven-Person All Girl Sex Scene Involving a Dairy Product in a Classroom really doesn’t interest me. I’m most interested in the star-focused awards and I want to know who you guys think will win these two:

Happy New Year Alison. For me, the best new starlet is the far more intriguing category of the two presented here. My vote would go to Tanner Mayes based on her VideoBox appearances and the additional entertainment she provided in her cell phone meltdown episode. However, it’s such a strong field this year. I’ve enjoyed the work of Britney Amber, Brynn Tyler, Emy Reyes, London Keyes, Natalia Rossi, Nicole Ray, and Sadie West as well. Riley Steele looks amazing in the pic you provided, but I haven’t viewed any of her videos. Checking iafd, she must be a contract girl for Digital Playground. All that said, I think it may come down to a duel between Kagney Linn Karter and Asa Akira. I think Kagney had the most hype throughout the year and you have to respect the fact that Asa has been nominated for best actress in addition to best new starlet. As far as the best actress category, I can’t get too worked up over any of the nominees.

A very happy New Year to you, too, Rope. Judging from how the poll’s leaning now, it looks like Kagney Linn Karter vs. London Keyes. Riley Steele is indeed a DP contract girl. Which may put her at an advantage for the award, but we’ll see. She’s competing against two of her fellow DP stars. At any rate, I agree that the Best Actress field is pretty unexciting and I think Sasha Grey will win by a mile. She’s also being named the Jenna Jameson Crossover Star of the Year – an dubious honor if you ask me.

i like the other Roxy better than Roxy DeVille…the little English tart…and Jessica Drake is still looking good…
judging by the number of good-looking women in the “Best New Starlet” category there must not be much stigma left as far as being in porn…

@ jeff – I believe you’re referring to Roxy Jezel. I like both Roxy’s, but yes, Roxy Jezel more so. Alison informed us in this post that Roxy Jezel has announced her retirement from the porn business.

i picked for best actress Bree Olsen,because i like longshots that are strong finishers. yep hon this is just like horseracing. Sasha Grey is too much like the obvious favorite that people would put the money on. but heavy favorites don’t always win. dohn’t get me wrong sasha is about the most talented female porn starlet i have ever seen,as we;; as about the most intelligent. i just have strong feeling Bree will come out the victor.
Best new porn starlet i voted for Riley Steele for one simple reason and that relates to testosterone. mainly she just plain exudes sexuality.she does a great job of helping to charge my batteries if you catch my drift. i think Kagney Linn Carter wil win it,but Riley could pull the upset because of the reason Alison mentioned

The stigma thing is something I’ve wondered about. I’m planning on asking some of the girls about it at the AVN show next week.
baldguyxx – Tori’s nominated for Female Performer of the Year. How that’s different from Best Actress, I have no idea.

HotScooter – It’s entirely possible both categories will have upset winners. Bree’s really popular with fans and I think being a DP contract girl is an advantage for Riley. But My money is definitely on Sasha and Kagney Linn.

indeed Sasha will be a heads on favorite to win,and she is a very capable porn star.probably the one most capable of crossing over to
mainstream acting ,in all of porn history. in my opinion best actress is down to 2 people. you pick Sasha and i pick Bree. otherwise i cannot see any of the other nominees for best actress having a prayer..
i agree with all of you that the far more interesting race that is wide open,is race for best new porn starlet, i just find Riley Steele the hottest
