All Good Things Must Come to an End
After almost 3 years at the helm of the VideoBox Blog, I’ve decided to step down to pursue an exciting job opportunity at Kink.com.
The decision whether or not to continue writing the blog was a very difficult one for me, but in the end, the choice came down to one thing – quality. Writing a blog post, depending on how long/complicated it is, can take anywhere from a few hours to more than a day. It’s clear to me that I can’t give Kink my best work and have time to deliver consistent quality to the VB blog. Trying to do both would just make all parties unhappy.
When I first started the VideoBox Blog, I was incredibly nervous. With no idea of what to expect, I worried, “What are our members really like? Will I be able to write things that will interest them? Will they be nice to me?” To be honest, nothing prepared me for how positive this entire experience would turn out to be. To some degree, it was gratifying to write about a topic I enjoy, but the main reason I ended up loving the blog so much was the readers.
I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to write for such interesting, funny, and (to my great relief) kind people. Thank you to everyone who has ever read this blog – especially those who’ve shared stories and opinions, asked questions, or even tried to get customer service help from the comments section. Especially my friend ropeadope, who I know will continue to do his usual amazing job with the blog after I’m gone.
I’m getting all verklempt, so I’ll just end by saying that this is farewell – not goodbye. I have a good feeling that you’ll see me here again. (In the meantime, feel free to come say hi on my personal blog.)

My bad! My last sentence was supposed to say, “Also, I want to tell you that even when I don’t post TOO much in this blog due to lack of time for it, I used to READ all your posts since day one, and I want to thank you for your interesting, and funny posts.” Sorry, English is my second language!
Take care, Alison!

Alison, (I finally managed to write your name without adding an extra l
) This is a very sad day and VB will never be the same. To me you were the face of the site. A smart, sharp witted, kind and attractive presence that I will miss very much. Even though I did not comment that much, I read every one of your blogs and watched the interviews. They were great.
You are a class act and I wish you the best wherever life takes you.

A very sad day for VideoBox, the VideoBox membership, and the blog itself. Alison, I’m forever grateful for your bringing me aboard the blog, all your help in my early (and not so early) blog submissions, and your patient tutoring of my blog skills. For the past 15 months, I’ve always looked forward to Fridays. No, it wasn’t in anticipation of the VideoBox weekend DVD uploads. It was because Friday is Alison Day. And what could be better than a new Alison blog article? As far as I’m concerned, Friday will continue to be Alison Day. All the best in your endeavor with Kink, and anything and everything else you decide to tackle in the future. We’ll leave the porch light on.

Sorry, this is going to be off topic. Did I miss a blog post where they said they were going to remove the Quick Preview feature. For months I’ve been getting the, “We’re sorry the URL that you requested is not available” message. I’ve emailed support and still nothing. OK so I just checked an OLD video and it does work there but still?

The Site won’t be the same without you around, but hey when opportunity comes calling who are we to stop you from jumping ship for bluer Oceans and Whiter Sandy Beaches???

As one can read here many times over even those of us who spend too much time listening to the head without brains – we can and do appreciate a good thing. Alison I am not a big commenter but I am sure like those whom have taken the time to post here and the many others like me that read and just enjoy your topics I wish you all the best on your new adventure. Best of luck. And I do hope to read your comments from time to time – just to know you still stop by!

Allison, arrivederci and shalom aleichem. May your new job be all that you hope, and more. I, too, am a nearly non-commentator who thinks you should know that you’ve meant an awful lot to the silent majority of VB members.
