Videobox at CES
The porn may have been flowing at the Sands Expo Center, but a few blocks away the nerd factor was through the roof at the Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition to the Adult Entertainment Expo, Videobox spent a couple days at CES, soaking in some upcoming gadgets we’ll be seeing more of in 2011.
There are a variety of products coming out that could improve the way you consume video. To name a few, some vendors focused on:
- New 3d technologies, including 3d TV with no glasses and prosumer-level 3d camcorders
- pocket-sized laser display projectors
- kinect-style remoteless navigation
- HDMI-over-IP
- Fancy new tablets
- Amazing new advances in TV tech, including big-screen OLED displays
The list of interesting new tech is immense. Over the next couple days I’ll be showcasing some of the interesting products I saw at CES, and how they could aide your porn viewing experience.
Stay tuned!

Hey, isn’t that the nerdy guy in the Ron Jeremy ad?

@ joe – Lol, I scurried back to re-watch the Jeremy ad, and I think it’s a different guy. What makes it a bit difficult is we’re viewing the ad guy head-on, and this guy in profile. But the Jeremy ad guy strikes me as having better posture. Maybe the individual above is the mysterious ZAPP himself!

Haha, yep, that’s me eyeing up one of the dozens of Lamborghinis at the car audio Hall at CES. My name is Adam, I’m an engineer at VB; my username is an ode to Zapp Brannigan
Kenny is the guy in the excellent Ron Jeremy ads.

@ zapp – Hey Adam, good to see you. I know many names among the VideoBox personnel, but very few faces. It’s always nice to be able to put a face with the name. Yes, I assumed the username was a reference to Brannigan. Which wasn’t really going out on a limb, since I don’t know any other Zapp’s. Looking forward to more of your CES reports.

Hi Adam, just curious, the hdmi over IP sounds suspiciously like the HDbaseT initiative that has been hammered on the last couple of years. Is it the same or something else?
