Old Site (VB2) Retired

Dear VideoBoxers,

ship-sailed

Today we bid a fond farewell to our old site, known to many as VB2, as it sails beyond the horizon. Thank you to everyone who enjoys this site, whether in its old form(s) or in its current one, or both. We know some of you are sad to see her go, but all of us here at VB strongly feel that this is going to turn out great for all of you in the long run. Believe me, we would not have done this if we didn’t.

So, even as we say goodbye to the old site and the codebase that supported it, we are excited about the modern makeover VideoBox is getting behind the curtains and the redesign that is soon to come. Stay tuned, because this is not an ending but a new beginning.

Cheers,
Bob and the Whole VB Team

Welcome… to the FUTURE!

Hi Everybody,

Yes, it’s a huge week here at VideoBox HQ, as we boldly venture into… the FUTURE!

OK, so mostly what I mean by that is, as of now we are no longer offering WMVs for scene downloads. You can get more info about the decision, and tips for using our other files, on this page.

back-to-future

But the move away from WMVs is only part of a sweeping modernization and tech upgrade. We are finishing up our migration from our own servers to a fully-virtual cloud solution for our application and content servers.

If that makes no sense to you, don’t worry about it; the simple version is, the site will be run with the latest technology, including video streams that get higher- or lower-res depending on your Internet connection. This should make things faster and snappier for you and make it easier for us to grow and improve.

I can’t promise you there won’t be some rockiness along the way, and some of you may have seen a little of it in the last week or so, but rest assured that when this migration is complete it will make 2015 a great year to watch porn.

Leave us a comment below or send an email via our contact us form if you have questions, concerns or words of celebration. Here’s to the future!

Best Regards,
Bob and the Whole VB Team

Where are Custom Clips?

UPDATE 3/24/15: As of January 31, 2015, all resources for this site are stored on virtual servers in the cloud. In order to meet this deadline, which was not under our control, we had to temporarily scale back the number of scenes available to be custom-clipped for downloading. We had to also — again, temporarily — remove the ability to create clips from within the flash player.

We are delighted to tell you that in addition to restoring custom downloads for all content on the site at the start of March, going back to the very first scene ever uploaded, as of today we have also re-enabled clipping in the flash player.
