Microsoft Edge Browser Breaks Internet!

Hi VideoBoxers,

If you haven’t heard by now, Microsoft has recently released Windows 10, a much needed update from their previous OS disaster. Although Windows 10 looks to be a major improvement, there have been some strange decisions from Microsoft. One of these head-scratchers is to make their new browser “Microsoft Edge” the default browsers on Windows 10. When testing with Microsoft Edge we’ve discovered that not only do certain pages not render the same way across all other major browsers but Microsoft decided to remove the ability to download directly from a link! Seriously. If you right-click, you will not be presented with “Save Link/Target As” option.

If you are a VideoBox user who likes to stream our download files directly in the browser, that functionality will continue to work but right-clicking, and saving the video file will not be possible when using Microsoft Edge.

We hope that Microsoft will release an update soon – But in the meantime, if you already upgraded to Windows 10, we recommend using a different browser when using VideoBox.

Windows 10 also broke the functioning of Media Player Classic which I use to watch all videos I download as my default media player. I’m glad I downgraded back to Windows 8.1.

Windows 10 spies on you. so if you care about your privacy don’t use it.

Care to elaborate on that anon?

I found a possible solution to the Download problem on Windows 10 . Go to settings , click systems , scroll down to browsers and click on Internet explorer . Great if you really like the features on Windows 10 , but you can also use IE to Download clips .

My bad , Go to settings ,Click System Then Click on Default apps , Then Scroll down to Browsers Then click on internet Explorer . Right click to ‘ save as ‘ should work fine .

@Mike – just google if you would. This has been all over the tech blogs. New “privacy” policy, TOS etc. Sounds like they want a cut of the tracking money.

also for VB, it would be great if we can select our overall site preferences and especially for what shows up in “Recommended Movies”
too much latino stuff on here now starting to become annoying. Didnt used to bother me before.

Great idea to pick what we see in “Recommended Movies” I for one am sick of seeing premium content show up that I am not subscribed to and don’t want to see. There should be a way to filter it out so you only see what you are subscribed to. Of course I assume Videobox loves forcing us to see premium content as enticement to upgrade, however that will never happen as they are severely overpriced. So it’s just majorly annoying!
