The VideoBox Blog

After almost 3 years at the helm of the VideoBox Blog, I’ve decided to step down to pursue an exciting job opportunity at Kink.com.

The decision whether or not to continue writing the blog was a very difficult one for me, but in the end, the choice came down to one thing – quality. Writing a blog post, depending on how long/complicated it is, can take anywhere from a few hours to more than a day. It’s clear to me that I can’t give Kink my best work and have time to deliver consistent quality to the VB blog. Trying to do both would just make all parties unhappy.

When I first started the VideoBox Blog, I was incredibly nervous. With no idea of what to expect, I worried, “What are our members really like? Will I be able to write things that will interest them? Will they be nice to me?” To be honest, nothing prepared me for how positive this entire experience would turn out to be. To some degree, it was gratifying to write about a topic I enjoy, but the main reason I ended up loving the blog so much was the readers.

I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to write for such interesting, funny, and (to my great relief) kind people. Thank you to everyone who has ever read this blog – especially those who’ve shared stories and opinions, asked questions, or even tried to get customer service help from the comments section. Especially my friend ropeadope, who I know will continue to do his usual amazing job with the blog after I’m gone.

I’m getting all verklempt, so I’ll just end by saying that this is farewell – not goodbye. I have a good feeling that you’ll see me here again. (In the meantime, feel free to come say hi on my personal blog.)

Are you in a relationship? Do you wish you could share your VB membership with your significant other, but aren’t sure how to introduce it? Porn, by its nature, is a pretty charged subject. In a relationship, it can be a minefield – but it can also be a great way to bond with your partner and take your sexual relationship to a new level. I’ve wanted to check out the movie Pure ever since I had the pleasure of interviewing Asa Akira in January, but I had no idea just how much I was missing out on until now. Read on for a preview of the late, great David Aaron Clark’s final masterpiece – arriving on the Evil Angel channel next weekend.

Sada (Asa Akira) is a receptionist at a dungeon. She claimed not to want anything to do with the actual sessions, she just needed money to pay the bills. It’s World Cup time and you know what that means…soccer-themed porn! Unfortunately, I felt like this morning’s Soccer Girls didn’t quite satisfy the need to watch girls wearing soccer socks get nailed.

In December ‘09, I did a post about the best of the best awful porn titles on VideoBox. Since that time, Porn Valley has continued its fine naming tradition and we’ve continued to post movies with ridiculous titles – some funny, some gross, a few nonsensical.

Here are a few of my favorites from the last 5 months or so.

Hog Humpers BBW videos always get stuck with the absolute worst titles. The most epic of all time is, of course, Fuck My Gut Butt. Which is probably not offensive if you have a gut butt? I’m not sure. But I will say that Hog Humpers leans a little more toward the mean side. My suggestions for new, kindlier BBW titles: Rubenesque Romps, Zaftig Encounters and Full-Figured Fucks.

Relax, He’s My Step Dad I will not relax, thank you. This is creepy as hell. And the pruny, bespectacled gentleman pulling down Gracie Glam’s shirt on the cover is skin-crawl inducing. On a vaguely related note, someday Joey Silvera’s going to make a movie called Tranny Step MILFs. And when that day comes, you can congratulate me because that was my title. I gave him full permission to use it because I know it’s gonna be a huge hit.

Remove Stars from a Clip
Have you ever had a clip that says it stars two girls, but only one of them is really part of the action? Now you can remove the absent star. In this example, I made a clip of Ava Devine finishing a gentleman. Gia Paloma wasn’t really helping out, so I removed her:
