Unless you’ve been galaxy hopping around the universe, you probably caught wind of the latest chapter in the train wreck life of Charlie Sheen. Embroiled in the most recent controversy is VideoBox favorite Kacey Jordan. Kacey hooked up with Charlie at his home last week, and departed with a $30,000 check. Sometime later, Charlie was rushed to the hospital with abdominal pain. Kacey claims the hospitalization was the result of a two day binge of alcohol and drugs. In a sprawling 69 minute commercial free interview, Kacey gave Howard Stern the details of her adventure with Charlie, as well as other events impacting the life of a simple, down home 22 year old working girl from Oregon. Savannah Gold was seriously injured in an apparent home invasion. Many thanks to fellow members Dreamzkape and decroder for bringing the story to my attention. The Sun broke the news in its July 27th publication. Here is their account:

A dad was caged yesterday for throttling porn star Savannah Gold and slitting her throat. The busty actress-turned-escort was found naked and pouring with blood after neighbours in South London heard screams.

The Sun reports the attacker was sentenced to a minimum of eight years in prison.

To my friends in the UK, please help me out. How fast does a case move through the UK judicial system? If this event occurred in the US, it would probably be many months, if not years from the date of the crime to the date of the sentencing.

Perusing the porn star list this morning, I started thinking about what makes a porn star unpopular. Audrey Hollander is a pretty girl who’s made a lot of porn, but she’s not the most popular starlet with VideoBox members (to put it mildly). I had to wonder if those things were connected in some way.

Does the number of scenes a star has on VideoBox affect how popular she is on the site? I hypothesized that the answer was yes. Then I wrote a script to gather up 1,000 stars’ scene counts and popularity ratings. Shortly thereafter I was disappointed to learn that those things appeared to have nothing at all to do with one another. Even the stars with the top 25 scene counts didn’t correlate well with popularity (or lack thereof).

I went back to the drawing board. What was it that people disliked about Audrey? Was it her willingness to do more, shall we say, extreme scenes? New question: How does the willingness to engage in gangbangs on camera relate to popularity?
